Glenna Mason – 4-H Youth Development Agent – Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties

March 9, 2021

Glenna Mason is the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Orangeburg and Calhoun county. She has been in this position since June 2018,

Her background is in Family and Consumer Science which means Home Economics.  She has taught in several southern states, including MS, TN, AL, and SC. Glenna previously worked for Clemson Extension in Lancaster, Pickens, and Chester county, from 1995-2003.

She works in all areas of 4-H, but enjoys the area of healthy lifestyles and foods and nutrition the best!  She works with youth ages 5 to 18.  She also works with 4-H volunteers.  Glenna’s favorite part of her job is teaching youth.  She loves to see the spark in their eyes when they have learned something that she taught them.

Glenna’s most memorable experience with Extension was when she was selected to chaperone youth to attend the National 4-H Conference Center.  Not being chosen for the trip when she was a 4-H member from Mississippi left her feeling disappointed. She was thrilled to be able to take a group of 4-Her’s from South Carolina.  She felt like she was a 4-H member again receiving my award!

Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to people of all ages, regardless of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or family status and is an equal opportunity employer
