Jonathan Croft is the Agricultural Extension Agent for Orangeburg, Dorchester, and Berkeley Counties. Jonathan has been with Clemson Extension for 15 years.

  • He attended Clemson University and earned an M.S. in Plant and Environmental Sciences in 2006 and a B.S. in Agriculture Mechanization and Business in 2003.
  • His program emphasis includes crop production (cotton, corn, peanuts, soybeans, and sorghum).
  • His duties as the agriculture agent include assisting producers with agronomic topics related to row crop production, pesticide safety and licensing training for private pesticide applicators, and other crop management concerns.  Jonathan holds educational programs, one-on-one farm visits, and electronic communication to achieve his job duties.

Finding out answers to problems and assisting growers to produce a better crop is the favorite part of his job. The most memorable experience Jonathan has had while working for Clemson Extension Service is serving on the Executive Planning Committee for the 2012 National Association of County Agriculture Agents Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference.  They planned and managed the program for 1500 of our colleagues from across the nation.
