Karissa R Ulmer is the Savannah Valley District Director. She started her Extension career in 1999 in the Colleton County Extension office and then was hired as the 4-H Agent for Allendale and Hampton Counties.
Mrs. Ulmer received a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Communication from The Ohio State University. She previously worked at the Ohio Expo Center/Ohio State Fair. She also spent a year with WestWayne advertising in Atlanta, GA, before moving to South Carolina.
Today she serves as a supervisor for the day-to-day operations for the 10 County Extension offices in the Savannah Valley. She also serves as the liaison between the counties in the Savannah Valley District and
Her favorite part of her job is working with staff to identify community issues and working together to provide solutions.
One day she hopes to co-author a book about all the unique experiences in County Extension offices.
