New Course For Fall 2020: CHE 4450/6450: Pharmaceutical Engineering

Pharmaceutical Engineering – Open to All Science and Engineering Majors

This fall (2020), Chemical Engineering is offering a new course CHE 4450/6450 on MWF 9:05-9:55 AM (CRN 80163 & 91933). This course is designed to give an overview of the pharmaceutical engineering process, walking through drug development from medicinal compound isolation, drug delivery, and application, and finally steps required for clinical translation. In this Selected Topics in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering course, students can expect to learn basic human biology and physiology, experimental techniques for drug discovery and development, and the Food and Drug Administration guidelines. Students will leave this course understanding the unique role that engineers can play in the pharmaceutical field. The course is designed for science and engineering majors, with basic chemistry, biology, and mathematics backgrounds.
