Lab 2, Drill and Ceremony with Drill Sergeants

September 5, 2014

Blog 1For the Drill and Ceremony Lab, three Drill Sergeants from the 1st/518th Infantry Regiment out of Asheville, NC came to teach the Freshmen and Sophomores the basics of Drill and Ceremony. The Juniors were pleased to have separate training to allow them to learn different aspects of Drill and Ceremony. Cadet Bussmann said, “Freeing up the Juniors and Seniors for the first part of the lab was a great idea.” Both training events are shaping the Battalion to succeed over this next year.  Drill Sergeants are trained in teaching Basic Training Soldiers how to march and conduct the basic Soldiering skills, therefore bringing in the Drill Sergeants, who are experts at Drill and Ceremony, to teach the Cadets is a great idea.  This also gives the Cadets a chance to see Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) that are not normally around the ROTC Battalion.
