B-Note March 12, 2020

March 12, 2020

Greetings fellow Tigers!

Each year, the Clemson Alumni Association has the opportunity to recognize alumni who make an indelible mark on their profession, their community and on their alma mater, Clemson University. Join me in congratulating the 2020 honorees of the Clemson Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service Award. This is the highest honor the association bestows upon a former student. This year’s award recipients are:

-Thomas James “Jimmy” Bell Jr ‘65
-Mary Anne McDonald Bigger ‘88
-Jane Robelot DeCarvalho ‘82
-James H. “Hank” Owen, Jr ‘73
-Steve Watt ‘81

The Clemson Family is truly a remarkable group of people, and each year it is with great honor that we recognize a few of our incredibly successful alumni who not only make a difference in their professions and community but who have remained deeply committed to Clemson. You can read more about this year’s recipients here and view photos from last Friday’s event here.

I was in Greensboro yesterday cheering for our Tigers as they defeated Miami 69-64 in their first game of the ACC men’s basketball tournament. The Tigers advance to the quarterfinals and face the No. 1 seed, Florida State, today at 12:30 p.m. Go Tigers! Beat the Seminoles!

Our University officials are closely monitoring COVID-19. Our leadership is actively engaged in daily planning to inform and reduce the risk to faculty, staff, students and visitors from the virus. We are committed to providing our students with the best education while ensuring that everyone on our campus is safe. Clemson is regularly updating the University’s website, and you can find the most recent information here.

B- Ready!
Mark your calendars for our fifth annual Give Day on April 8! Now in its fifth year, Give Day has been an opportunity for us to give back to the University and create a culture of generosity. Since the gift that founded our University, many have contributed to Clemson’s legacy. Give Day is our chance to pay homage to our University and support future Clemson Tigers. We have all felt the impact of Thomas Green Clemson’s original gift, and it’s why we understand the lasting significance that can occur with a single gift. The path forward begins with you. You can pave the path for future generations of Tigers.

Go Tigers!
