Clemson students sit outside the Cooper Library

B-Note July 16, 2020

July 16, 2020

Greetings fellow Tigers!

The summer is quickly coming to an end, and we are anxious to welcome our students back to campus. Although our lives are going to look different, I am confident the Clemson Family will come together – like we always have – to work through the inevitable changes. As Clemson continues to prepare for the Fall semester, Provost Bob Jones and Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations Tony Wagner will host a virtual town hall on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. All faculty and staff are invited to participate by submitting questions to infosession@clemson.edu in advance of the event, and the town hall can be viewed on Clemson TV at https://is.gd/CUInfoSession. You can also review the most recent update on Fall Planning, Summary and Status of Initiatives here.

Your gifts to Clemson are making a difference in the lives of our faculty, staff and students and allow Clemson to prepare our students for the future. After graduation, our alumni – like U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Derek “Shootsbe” Heinz – are making their mark in the world. Heinz, a 2007 Clemson University alumnus, has graduated the Navy Strike Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) course in the nation’s newest and most advanced fighter jet, the F-35C. The Navy announced Heinz became one of the first two F-35 pilots to graduate from the TOPGUN course flying the fifth-generation Joint Strike Fighter. Heinz says, “My time as a Clemson student prepared me for the rigors of this course. It requires hours of studying to be successful as a fighter pilot, a foundation that was laid during my time at Clemson.” You can read more about Heinz and his amazing accomplishment here.

B- Moving Forward!

The generosity of those who came before us has brought us to where we are today. Your generosity today is paving the path for future generations of Tigers and ensuring Clemson’s success in the future.

The new fiscal year is officially underway, and I am looking forward to another fantastic year at Clemson. Thank you, Clemson alumni, donors and leaders, for your support to our University!

Go Tigers!
