BOARD OF TRUSTEES BESTOWS AWARD ON CHAD MCMAHAN

Chad McMahan, the department’s histologist and safety officer, was recognized by Clemson’s Board of Trustees with the Will to Lead award. Mr. McMahan was nominated for the award by his peers across colleges. Central to his being so recognized was Chad’s earlier national-level Helping Hand award from the National Society for Histotechnology and Newcomer Supply. According to Chad, his “greatest desire is to assist students in achieving their maximum potential in research.”

Always looking for the next good thing, Chad is applying to Clemson’s Staff Development Program, a volunteer-operated program that offers University staff an opportunity to grow professionally and personally by voluntarily participating in various developmental and relevant service activities. Below, Chad described his philosophy about the challenges he takes on. Editor

My character is welcoming and I enjoy making people feel part of any team. Serving on committees or volunteering for community-related events allows me to learn new people and encourage what Clemson offers, “to be the best.” Chad McMahan
