The Glenn Department of Civil Engineering hosted the 2023 ASCE Civil Engineering Education Summit at Clemson University with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) program. Dr. Jennifer Ogle, chair of the civil engineering department noted that over 100 people attended from 52 different universities across the country. During the two-and-a-half day event, attendees participated in 30 workshops around four themes: expanding the domain of civil engineering, elevating professional skills, fostering inclusive culture, and advancing engineering education. Workshops also covered leadership skills for change including removing barriers to change, and creating strategic partnerships. The summary will be released this fall on the ASCE Collaborate Portal.
