Dr. Kalyan Piratla along with two co-authors received the 2015 Arthur M. Wellington Prize for the paper, “Quantification of Sustainability Index for Underground Utility Infrastructure Projects,” Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.” The selection committee particularly noted that the article is easily understandable and provides practitioners and planners/owners with a method to make sustainability an important factor in the decisions of utility replacement options. The award was presented to Dr. Piratla (center)and the two co-authors by ASCE’s Executive Director (far left), and ASCE President, Dr. Robert Stevens (far right).
