Several of the best and brightest students in the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering were recognized in conjunction with the department’s fall advisory board meeting. The Rhodes Most Outstanding Student Awards are presented each year to the most outstanding sophomore and junior students in both electrical and computer engineering. The recipients are chosen based on their outstanding academic achievement, character, and leadership, and receive a $500 cash award.

Rhodes Outstanding Sophomore in Electrical Engineering
Catherine G. Crowe
Germantown, TN
Catherine is a member of the Calhoun Honors College and plans to attend graduate school in electrical engineering. She is a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, the professional and social engineering and technical sciences sorority, and is the Community Service Chair for WISER.
Rhodes Outstanding Junior in Electrical Engineering
Martyn B. Lemon
Mt. Pleasant, SC
Martyn is a member of the Calhoun Honors College and is minoring in Music. He is currently a teaching assistant in General Engineering Department, serving as tutor and TA for Matlab FR course, and serves as the vice president of Tau Beta Pi. He has worked under Dr. Yongquang Wang’s robotics lab, specializing on synchronized robot network coordinator and implemented several algorithms onto the robot platform developed by the lab.
Rhodes Outstanding Sophomore in Computer Engineering
Aidan G. Tuttle
Waxhaw, NC
Aiden is a member of the Calhoun Honors College and is on the President’s List. He is an active member of Tau Beta Pi, IEEE, and Late Night Board Games Club, and has conducted research under Dr. Hugo Sanabria on Mind Controlled 3D Printing, working on finding the best software to assist in this task which allowed him to research machine learning.

Blake Stevenson
Simpsonville, SC
Blake is a member of the Calhoun Honors College minoring in Business Administration, and was the recipient of the National Merit Award (2017-2018) and the PCSCSPE Scholarship (2019-2020). He served in the Honors College Peer Mentoring Program (2018-19), where he mentored freshmen in the Honors College and continued to interact with them as they acclimated to college.
