Field trip: Geology around Brevard, N.C
Brevard, N.C is the type location for the Brevard Fault Zone (BFZ). The transition across the BFZ will be examined. We will proceed into the Pisgah Mountains to examine landslides, the Looking Glass pluton, Pink Beds and other intrusions. The summit of Black Balsam Mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway will be visited to view highly deformed beds of the Ashe Metamorphic Suite. Some hiking is required to visit all locations. If not able to do all, bring a chair and enjoy the mountain air.
Please take note of the policies below. These will be enforced.
For in-person attendees: You must check in at the registration table by 11 AM to obtain a badge. No check-in = no CEUs or PDHs.
For remote attendees: You must log into a respective Zoom webinar for each of the morning, keynote, and afternoon sessions using the name that you registered under. If your Zoom login name is “Iphone16” or “John” then we will be unable to associate your name with the appropriate CEUs/PDHs. Your hours/credits will be prorated if you only log into some of the sessions.
Hope to see you in April.
