To mark the 50th anniversary of when Dr. Thomas M. Keinath joined Clemson University (1969), the Department held a special seminar and reception in his honor on October 25, 2019. The featured speaker for the seminar was Dr. Glen Daigger, who is currently serving as a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan. Dr. Daigger is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and served for many years as the senior vice president and chief technology officer for CH2M HILL, a global consulting firm. The title of his seminar was Activated Sludge Process Milestones of the Modern Era: A Tribute to Dr. Thomas M. Keinath. The seminar was held in the auditorium of L. G. Rich Laboratory and was attended by many EEES alums. After the seminar, there was a reception at which many old acquaintances were renewed and new contacts were established. Emeritus faculty in attendance included Les Grady, Bob Fjeld, Alan Elzerman, and Fred Molz. Among the many alumni who attended, several who worked closely with Dr. Keinath included Bryan Cashion, Eric Wahlberg, Steve Cawood, Paul Bowen, George Fletcher, Bill Heatleym, and Scott Reboul (apologies if you attended but are not mentioned here!). Dr. Keinath was joined by his wife (Karen), son (Michael), daughter-in-law (Jennifer Chin) and granddaughters (McKenna and Sydney). They had the pleasure of watching Clemson demolish Boston College in the Homecoming game on Saturday!
