Dr. Sudeep Popat, has been honored as an August T Larsson Guest Researcher by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) through a prestigious program that fosters global research collaborations with SLU researchers. The program is made possible by funding from the August Teodor Larsson Foundation, which was founded on 14 January 1956 for lasting promotion of scientific research in the field of agriculture. The Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences at SLU has operated the program since 2011, and SLU has hosted ~40 researchers through the program. Beginning in 2025, Dr. Popat will spend one month each summer for the next three years at SLU, working with renowned experts Prof. Björn Vinnerås and Prof. Anna Schnürer. Dr. Popat’s research at SLU will focus on advancing nutrient recovery from source-separated urine and anaerobic digestion, driving impactful innovations in sustainable waste management. This collaboration aims to foster a long-standing partnership between SLU and Clemson.
