Ladner Joins Executive Committee for SC American Water Works Association

Dr. David Ladner, Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, was appointed to serve on the Executive Committee for the South Carolina Chapter of the American Water Works Association (SCAWWA).  SCAWWA represents more than 800 water professionals throughout the state. The parent organization, the American Water Works Association (AWWA), is a nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to assuring the effective management of water.  Dr. Ladner is the coordinator of the BS degree program in Environmental Engineering at Clemson.  Each year, Dr. Ladner organizes the participation of students from Clemson to attend the annual South Carolina Environmental Conference, jointly sponsored by SCAWWA and the Water Environment Association of South Carolina.  Dr. Ladner’s research is geared toward making membrane-based water treatment processes more sustainable.  His research group takes fundamental knowledge from surface and colloid science, mass transfer, fluid mechanics, etc., and applies it to solving real-world sustainable engineering challenges.  Congratulations to Dr. Ladner.
