Taber Awarded Scholarship from EREF

Paige Taber, an M.S. degree candidate in Environmental Engineering and Science, was recently awarded the Carl J. Apicella Scholarship from the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF). EREF is the largest source of funding for scholarships and grants related to sustainable solid waste management in North America. The Scholarship Program recognizes students with academic excellence, professional involvement and an interest in sustainable solid waste management issues at the postdoctoral, doctoral and master’s levels. Paige received one of only three awards made nationally to MS students in 2018. Her research involves understanding the nature and removal of UV-quenching substances in landfill leachate which pose issues in UV disinfection at many wastewater treatment plants that accept leachate for treatment. Paige’s thesis advisor is Dr. Sudeep Popat.  Congratulations to Paige on this prestigious award.
