You can find Deveraux Williams at the Core Campus dining hall at noon most Fridays. Williams takes advantage of the faculty and staff discount where employees pay $5 to eat at any of the campus dining halls.

“I think it is an incredible idea to provide $5 meals all day on Fridays,” Williams explained. “It gives the opportunity for all staff and faculty who not only work during the morning or afternoon, but also those who may work in the evening to take advantage of the deal of eating a meal for just $5.”

That employee discount is about to get better. Officials now say that employees pay $5 for any meal—breakfast, lunch and dinner—at the campus dining halls during the spring semester.

“$5 Fridays is a great way for faculty and staff members to come into the dining halls and enjoy a meal with students or co-workers in a comfortable atmosphere,” said Liz Sturgis, Aramark’s marketing coordinator. Clemson partners with Aramark to manage the campus dining halls. “Due to its growing popularity, Clemson Home Dining is excited to expand $5 Fridays to include all meals periods so faculty and staff members can take advantage of the deal, regardless of the shifts they work.”

Williams likes The Fresh Food Company–the dining hall located in Building B of the new Core Campus site. The hall features display-style cooking with fresh, made-to-order entrees. Food allergies or meat restrictions are no problem – there’s something for everyone at this dining hall.

And the food is amazingly good.

“The food is appealing and the halls are conveniently located,” Williams said. “And faculty and staff don’t have to leave campus.

To get the discount, faculty and staff should show their Tiger One card to the cashier.
