Clemson earns financial reporting accolade for 22nd consecutive year

Clemson was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This award was based on the university’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014. This is the highest form of recognition of governmental accounting and financial reporting and the award represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals. According to the association’s website, the GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (CAFR Program) 70 years ago to encourage, assist and recognize state and local governments that surpass the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive and transparent annual financial reports.

This is the 22nd consecutive year Clemson has been awarded this certificate.
