Clemson to recycle packaging materials

You might know the rules for recycling plastic and paper, but did you wonder what to do with the leftover styrofoam peanuts from that last shipment? The Clemson Recycling Center is now recycling expanded polystyrene/styrofoam (EPS) on campus. The symbol on the package identifying EPS is #6, and it is found in items such as packing peanuts and foam coolers.

All EPS to be recycled must be the white block style and must be clean from contaminants. To recycle large quantities, contact the Recycling Center at 656-4291. For a more extensive list of what can be recycled, visit the Recycling website and select “What Can Be Recycled” from the drop down menu.
