Construction update: Union Drive to close; ATMs to be built

Dec. 15 is going to be a busy day. In addition to the start of the Douthit Hills project near Highway 93, the Core Campus construction, currently underway in the heart of Clemson’s main campus, will yield a few changes. As part of the Core Campus improvements, the Student Union overhang will be permanently removed.

For your safety while work is being completed, Union Drive will be closed from Dec. 15 through Jan. 2. This road leads to the Parking and Transportation Services office, Harcombe Dining Hall, university mailroom and post office, the university municipal court and student government office. Signs will be posted to direct pedestrians and vehicles to alternate routes.

Got money? ATMs coming soon

Dec. 15 marks the beginning of construction of four ATMs to be located near the Student Union. The ATMs will be positioned between Holmes Hall and McCabe Hall. The project is expected to be complete during the middle of the spring semester, which much of the loud work being done during the holiday break.

At this point, officials can’t say which banks will be represented by the new ATMs. Requests for proposals will be offered to university officials at the beginning of the spring semester, at which time four banks will be selected.
