Faculty: Call for 2014 Conference on the Value of Play Presentation Proposals

Be a part of an international, peer-reviewed conference at the doorstep of Clemson University’s campus!

The US Play Coalition 2014 Conference on the Value of Play: Collaboration and Creativity will take place February 16-19 at the Madren Center adjacent to Clemson’s campus, and Clemson faculty are invited to submit presentation proposals for the conference.

The latest research and practices in the field of play will be presented at the conference, which brings together leading play researchers and advocates from across the U.S. and world. This year’s conference will focus on collaboration and creativity, which are crucial to increasing play opportunities and knowledge of play’s benefits. Presentations will be categorized into one of six tracks: education, programming, parks and recreation, health, business/corporate, and children’s museums.

Past attendees and speakers have come from fields such as education, landscape architecture, parks and recreation, health science, business, arts, animal behavior, and medicine. The Coalition welcomes presentation proposals from various disciplines.

To be a part of the event, submit your presentation proposal on the US Play Coalition website before Sept. 18, 2013. Notifications of acceptance will be sent in late October following peer-review of proposals. There are also opportunities to receive grant funding.

Conference registration is also available online, and Clemson University faculty and staff are eligible for the early bird student rate of $125, which includes four meals, all educational sessions, time in the hospitality room, and more.
