Jones gives dean search update

By Bob Jones, Executive Vice president for Academic Affairs and Provost

The searches for the Vice President for Research (VPR), the Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School (AP/GSD), and the Dean of Libraries are going well.  We have screened 97 applications for the VPR position, 74 applications for the AP/GSD, and 37 applications for the Dean of Libraries to select candidates for first round interviews.  We are pleased with the quality of the pool of applicants for all three positions.  We anticipate that on-campus interviews will take place during April and May.  These plans are tentative, but we ask that you plan to participate in as many of the open forums and other opportunities to interact with the candidates as you can.  Additional details regarding the candidate visits will be made available as soon as they are confirmed. These positions are important to our 2020Forward planning and we look for your feedback and input on the candidates.

The search committees includes a cross-section of administrators, faculty, staff, and students from the university community who are working very hard to find the best possible people for Clemson.

Upcoming searches

In the following weeks, the searches for the Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Studies and the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs will begin. As plans are finalized, more information will be relayed regarding the search committees, dates and details.
