my.Clemson update available

By Ashley Hall, Class of 2015

An update for my.Clemson (version 1.2.0) is now available for download. Users will notice a few changes to the content as well as some exciting brand-new features in the Transit tab. Clemson’s developers have added a new Transit module with Parking Availability and Bus Routes.

Parking availability allows users to locate a parking spot in any parking lot on the University’s campus map in real-time, so users can view the availability of metered permit spots, find hours, permit types and methods of payment for each lot. Commuter lot parking availability will also be made available soon.

The bus tracking and bus routes addition allows users to view all Clemson area bus routes and find information for bus stops (including routes serviced), arrival times and schedule. Users can also track bus locations in real-time for the Research Park, Green and Employee shuttle routes. More bus routes will be made available as they are added.

Another feature worth noting is improvements to the mapping system. Users can now tap an icon on the map, which will open a user-friendly info pane to display location information. The pane will include the location’s distance from your current location. Additionally, if users tap on the Directions arrow from within, their native iOS or Android app will open Apple or Google maps and provide driving or walking directions from their current location to their chosen destination.
