New global partnerships database enhances engagement, collaboration

By Jillian Gaskins, Class of 2018

A new database, called MoveOn, is now accessible through the Global Partnerships and Initiatives Office within the Office of Global Engagement.  This new tool allows faculty and staff to easily access information about Clemson University’s global partnerships and activities around the world, as well as stimulate ideas for new opportunities.

Created to facilitate information sharing and new program coordination, MoveOn contains the records of Clemson’s formal international agreements and brings a more dynamic approach to managing global initiatives.

The database includes details about:

  • current partner institutions,
  • on-going collaborations,
  • embassy programs supporting exchanges and research collaboration,
  • funding resources for global mobility and research,
  • compliance and risk management, and
  • campus experts who can provide institutional information and guide interested parties in the process of developing programs.

Campus users will be able to use the MoveOn in two distinct ways.

The publisher feature is a search engine that allows users to conduct keyword searches to find information on current agreements and projects. No login is required.

The portal feature contains online forms for establishing new partnership agreements and documenting partnership activities replace. These forms replace the former manual department approval forms.

MoveOn will be continuously updated to build a fuller picture of Clemson’s global footprint. Users are asked to use the information update forms to help keep information current, to inform us of any information that is incomplete, incorrect or out of date and to provide suggestions for additional content or process improvements.
