Nominate for Distinguished Postdoctoral Award

Clemson seeks nominations for its Postdoctoral Award, The accolade recognizes a postdoctoral fellow who displays outstanding performance in scientific research, leadership, advocacy, outreach, and/or teaching, during their postdoctoral appointment at Clemson University. This award includes $1000 and a plaque. The awardee will be announced in June every year and will be awarded during the National Postdoctoral Appreciation Week (NPAW) in September.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a current postdoctoral associate at Clemson University.
  • Applicants can only receive one award for the duration of their postdoctoral appointment at Clemson University.
  • The applicant must be nominated by a faculty member to be eligible to apply for the award (The nomination can be submitted by any faculty member through a reference letter).Criteria
  • The award will be based on the performance at Clemson University as a postdoc.
  • Priority will be given to research and teaching performance.
  • The applicant’s involvement in other leadership positions can also be considered, along with any awards or honors they have received while they have been a postdoctoral associate at Clemson University.

Application documents

  • A completed Distinguished Postdoc Award application
  • Applicant CV (bold the work done at Clemson University as a postdoc)
  • Two letters of reference are required for the application (each letter should be a maximum of two pages)
  • One of these letters must be from the applicant’s advisor and should highlight the work done as a postdoc at Clemson University

The application period is open from February to May 1.

All application materials including reference letters must be submitted to Tonyia Stewart Assistant Director of for Graduate Studies and Post-Doc Affairs, by 5 p.m. May 1.
