OSP reorganizes to add faculty support services; improve grant proposals

To streamline current processes, add new faculty support services, and ensure funding accountability and compliance across all colleges, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will reorganize, effective July 1. The new structure is designed to better support faculty, departments, and colleges by moving to a decentralized structure with onsite teams at each college that will report to the OSP.

The reorganization is expected to support:

  • Improved turnaround times as proposals and awards are prepared, submitted and managed at the college-level;
  • Increased quality grant proposals that are produced using best practices;
  • Increased  services designed to meet the unique career stage needs of junior faculty, mid-career faculty, and experienced researchers;
  • Targeted interdisciplinary proposal development support that will reduce the administrative burden to faculty; and
  • A new electronic proposal system that will be introduced to faculty this fall.

This reorganization came about as a result of faculty input and Deans and Associate Deans of Research leadership.
