By Jackie Todd, Office of Media Relations

Clemson is becoming a stomping ground for political hopefuls. 2016 presidential candidates will visit Clemson’s main and satellite campuses this week in advance of the South Carolina Primary election.

Visits (which are subject to change) include:

  •  Ben Carson, who will visit the Greenwood Genetics Center today at 2:30 p.m.
  • Governor John Kasich, who will hold a town hall at the Strom Thurmond Institute on the main campus at 2:15 p.m. Thursday. Former Clemson quarterback, Tajh Boyd is scheduled to appear with Governor Kasich.
  • Senator Marco Rubio, who is tentatively set to visit campus Friday evening. Times and locations are still being discussed.

Republican candidate Donald Trump and Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, made campaign stops at Clemson last week.

Check the candidates’ Web pages for up-to-date information about campaign visits.

The South Carolina GOP primary is Feb 20 and the Democratic primary is Feb 27.
