Faculty can get much-needed assistance with their research and prepare Honors students for success. The 2017 EUREKA! Honors early-start research program coordinators are asking faculty researchers to submit a EUREKA! research proposal form found here. Faculty must submit research proposals by the Feb. 17 deadline. Previous program participants must submit new proposals by the deadline.

The successful program pairs Calhoun Honors College student researchers with a faculty mentor for the summer semester.

Now in its 12th year the program has experienced success with 60 percent of 2016 EUREKA! participants continuing undergraduate research in the fall and faculty who elected to continue their participation in the program.

For their participation, faculty mentors receive $200 for supplies and $500 for professional development per student mentored. Funds will be transferred in mid-July after the beginning of the new fiscal year.

Student assignment projects will be finalized during the week of May 14, 2017. Assigned student name(s) and contact information will be emailed to the faculty mentors during the week of May 14, 2017. Faculty mentors should meet on a weekly basis with their honors mentee to address concerns, questions, progress in the research project and to foster the mentoring process.  Please do not submit a proposal if you cannot commit the extra time to your assigned student.
