Progress on Clemson’s Long Range Framework Plan continues. Sasaki Associates, the planning firm which will work with Clemson as part of the planning process, were on campus in September to share the foundational information that was gathered and will be used in the planning process. Part of the information they shared included the project schedule, a historical perspective on the physical development of the campus, a review of special landscapes and places, a brief summary of teaching and research spaces, and an overview of mobility issues.  Sasaki Associates will be back in November to continue working on the plan.

The Framework Plan draws upon previous planning efforts, including the 2002 campus Master Plan and various other reports and studies. The plan resulted in the construction of the Scroll of Honor, the Watt Family Innovation Center and Douthit Hills.  Planners say they want to build on the successes of the 2002 plan.

“As time passes, the university grows,” said Gerald Vander Mey, University Planning and Design Director. “We want to expand the progress that we have made to meet the needs of future generations who study, live and work at Clemson.”
