Upstate Writing Project to offer summer camps

Clemson University’s Upstate Writing Project is offering three fantastic youth writing camps this summer for students interested in creative writing, film, and game design. These high-interest camps focus on the integration of writing and technology.  The early registration deadline (for a discounted rate) is April 10. A camp brochure and registration form are available here.

Camps are open to students entering grades 3-9. All camps are held at the University Center of Greenville.

Young Writers’ Camp: June 15-26, 2015, 9 a.m. – noon.

A two-week program for students interested in concentrating on creative writing. Students work intensely to create and share writing with new friends by tapping into their own unique experiences. The students have the opportunity to work alongside peers that share the same enthusiasm for writing as well as one-on-one conferences with teacher consultants from the Upstate Writing Project.

Young Writers’ Film Camp: June 15-26, 2015, 1-4 p.m.

A two-week program for students who desire training in the art and technique of filming. In addition to learning about the film development process, students will write, act, and film original scripts by using technology to create their own films.
Young Writer’s G@ming Camp: July 6-10, 2015, 9 a.m. – noon

A one-week program for students to take their writing to a new dimension as they write their own video games and use various computer software to publish it.
