Caleb M. Griffis, 20, passed away on April 1. He was a junior economics major and Army ROTC cadet from Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
Griffis was awarded an Army ROTC Line Scholarship at Clemson University where he was currently studying Economics and Financial Management and made the Dean’s List. He was currently Squad Leader of Alpha Company, 1st Platoon, 4th Squad (A-1-4). Griffis had recently competed in the Ranger Challenge and was Team Leader Elect for that unit. He was awarded Cadet of the Month recently and also earned the German Armed Forces Badge. Griffis was awarded a slot in the United States Army Air Assault School that he was to attend in August.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 5 at Level Grove Baptist Church, Cornelia Georgia. Interment will follow the service at Mount. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega.
