Edwin A. Freeman, professor emeritus – Aug. 7, 2017

Edwin A. Freeman, 89, of Clemson died August 7, 2017. He was a Professor Emeritus in the Music Department, who retired in 1996 with 27 years of service. Over the years, he wrote many musical arrangements for the Clemson Tiger Band, including “Eye of the Tiger,” still played regularly for Clemson fans during football games. He is the son of the late Edwin Jones Freeman who wrote the original “Tiger Rag,” and for whom Freeman Hall is named.

He is survived by his wife, children, family and friends.
