George Bonnette, 97, of Summerton, died Feb. 8, 2016. Bonnette was appointed as extension economist with the USDA Clemson Extension Service and later became business manager/assistant to director for USDA Clemson Extension Service. He retired in 1976 with 33 years of service.
Bonnette served as a captain in the U.S. Army’s 31st Signal Battalion, deployed to Central Burma during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, grandchildren, friends and family.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday in Old Stone Church Cemetery, Clemson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clemson University Marching Band.
