Jack Clark McCormac, Alumni Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering – June 3, 2021

Jack Clark McCormac, 94, Alumni Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering, died on June 3,  2021.

McCormac retired from Clemson in 1989 after 36 years of service. In 1995, Clemson University honored him with a Doctor of Letters.

He earned a Bachelor of Science from The Citadel in 1948 and an Master of Science from MIT in 1949, both in Civil Engineering.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary Christine McCormac and Ann Rebecca McCormac Johnson; son-in-law, Edwin Kirk Johnson; sister-in-law, Joann Woods McMaster; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating the life of McCormac will held be at 11 AM, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Clemson United Methodist Church with graveside services to follow at Woodland Cemetery (Cemetery Hill). The body of Professor McCormac will be placed in the sanctuary at 10 AM, Thursday prior to the service.
