Jackson L. Flanigan, Jr., Professor Emeritus of Leadership, Counselor Education, and Human Organizational Development, passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 85.
Flanagan arrived at Clemson University in 1989, teaching educational leadership with emphasis on school law and finance until he retired. He taught numerous students in South Carolina and throughout the area focusing on superintendency and principalship, and the PhD. leadership program.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Salem College and his Master of Education Administration from West Virginia University. He received his doctorate at Virginia Tech.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 11, at University Lutheran Church, 111 Sloan St., Clemson, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, S.C.
