George Kessler, Professor Emeritus of Forestry and Natural Resources – January 29, 2022

Professor Emeritus of Forestry and Natural Resources George Donald Kessler, 79, of Six Mile died January 29, 2022.

Kessler was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received his doctorate in forestry. He spent his entire 38-year career at Clemson in Extension Forestry. He and his wife, Marsha, operated Hilltop Christmas Tree Farm, which they started in 1971.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years; three daughters, Joanna Tinsley (John) of Pendleton, Katharine Gray (Mike) of Roanoke, Virginia, and Jennifer Dobson (Greg) of Anderson; a son, Jonathan Kessler of Warm Springs, GA; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ray Longenecker. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
