Siren tests scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 9

Clemson University and the Oconee Nuclear Station conduct periodic siren tests to ensure sirens are working properly. The next routinely scheduled campus test will be at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, to coordinate with the Oconee Nuclear Station siren test on the same day. Sirens will sound for approximately three minutes. This test is part of normal maintenance, and no public action is necessary. In the event of an actual emergency, you should go to and tune your radio or television to an emergency alerting station for instructions and information. In conjunction with the siren tests, CUSafe Alerts will be sent to all email accounts and text messages will go to those who signed up to receive them on their mobile phones.
