Spring 2025 Award Winners

Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business Awards

Wallace Dabney Trevillian Merit Award, Alyssa Neff

Alyssa Neff

The Wallace Dabney Trevillian Merit Award is given in honor of the late Dr. Wallace D. Trevillian, Dean Emeritus of the College. A senior with one of the highest scholastic records in the College is selected based on their outstanding character and leadership involvement in student organizations. 

Upon graduation, Neff will be pursuing her Clemson MBA with the intent to enroll in the dual degree MIB program in Paris, France. While pursuing her MBA, she will be working in the President’s Office under the Chief of Staff, Max Allen, as a graduate assistant.

Outstanding Senior in the Field of Business, Marah Hanson

Marah Hanson

A cash award and certificate are bestowed upon a senior from the traditional business disciplines who has been judged to be superior in terms of Cumulative Grade Point Ratio, professional activities, and potential for future contributions within his or her field of study.

During her time at Clemson, Hanson served as the Vice President of Scholarship and Awards for Delta Sigma Pi, Clemson’s business fraternity. Additionally, she served on the College of Business Recruitment Ambassadors, giving tours to prospective business students.

Last year, she participated in Clemson’s UPIC program as a Career Engagement Intern in the Office of Career and Global Engagement. In this role, she contributed to the launch of the C-Suite initiative and assisted in organizing and promoting the Student-to-Professional mentorship program. 

Additionally, she serves as a member of the Dean’s Global Leadership Program, which allows her to travel to South Korea with Dean York while engaging in specialized coursework. Through an exchange program, she also had the opportunity to study abroad on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Being involved in the Clemson Consulting Consortium, she’s worked under the mentorship of Deloitte on a year-long consulting engagement with Titan Farms, the largest peach producer on the East Coast. Lastly, she’s also an active member of Tri Delta.

Upon Graduation, Hanson will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, to join Red Ventures as an Analyst, where she will work in digital media consulting.

Blue Key Academic and Leadership, Sierra Leahy

Sierra Leahy

As a result of funds generated from Tigerama, an endowment has been established to award one student in each of the seven colleges at the University who has distinguished themselves in terms of academic scholarship and campus leadership.

During her time at Clemson, Leahy served as the VP of community service, Senior Vice President and President for Delta Sigma Pi, Clemson’s Business Fraternity. Additionally, she serves as the senior chair for the Marketing Student Advisory Board, a peer-to-peer mentor within the College of Business, and a member of the Blue Key Honor Society. Upon graduation, she plans to travel and work within a PR agency. 

Marketing Department Awards

The Marketing Department Annual Award for General Marketing, Katie Trenchard, and Josh Palmer

This Annual Award is given to two seniors who have excelled in academics and leadership, have shown a willingness to complete important tasks on behalf of the department, and exhibit the positive attitude and passion that are necessary for those who want to excel in the field of Marketing.

Katie Trenchard

During her time here at Clemson, Tenchard served as the Social Chair for Alpha Chi Omega, was a member of the Sales Innovation Program, served as an Honors Peer Mentor and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society and Clemson Marketing Association. In addition to this, she participated in Clemson’s intramural sports. Upon graduation, she plans to work in Aspen, Colorado.

Josh Palmer

During Palmer’s time at Clemson, he served on the CUBS leadership committee, the Clemson Marketing Association and as a Residential Community Mentor on campus.

Upon graduation, he plans to work with Schneider Electric as part of the Inside Service Sales Development Program.

The Marketing Department Annual Award for Sports Marketing, Sarah Buford, and Isabelle Roy

The Annual Award for Sports Marketing is presented to two students who concentrate in sports marketing and have excelled in both academics and leadership.  These students have participated in events related to sports marketing and community service.  They exhibit the positive attitude and passion that are necessary for those who want to work in the industry.

Sarah Buford

During her time at Clemson, Buford served as a Lead Marketing and Fan Experience Intern with Clemson’s Athletics Marketing, helping oversee all marketing efforts with Women’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Tennis. Additionally, she’s been actively involved in Volunteers4LIFE with ClemsonLIFE and the Clemson Marketing Association. Outside of this, she works at Elkmont Trading Company as a Sales Associate and a shift leader. Upon graduation, she will be working as an Inside Sales Representative at the Greenville Drive, the High Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. 

Isabelle Roy

During Roy’s time at Clemson, she served as an active member of Tri Delta, a co-leader for FCA and worked as an intern for IPTAY.

Upon graduation, she’s pursuing sports marketing and digital marketing opportunities.

The Marketing Department Annual Award for Research, Wynn Bartee and Savannah Shuler

Wynn Bartee

This Annual Award for Research is given to two seniors who have shown potential for a career in research as evidenced by their academic achievement, independent work on research projects with faculty, demonstrated excellence in research-related coursework and faculty recommendation.

During her time at Clemson, Bartee served as a Young Life leader and a member of the Clemson University Honors College. Upon graduation, she plans to either pursue a career in marketing analytics or teach English in Spain.

Savannah Shuler

During Shuler’s time at Clemson, she served as President of CU Insights, a Marketing Research Creative Inquiry. Here, she led a team through a client research project, working with the South Carolina Children’s Theater. The team explored SCCT’s current consumer experiences and pain points using a mixed-methods approach. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work with the Department of Marketing and Communications Website and Storytelling teams through UPIC. Here, she worked on analytical projects, website writing and creative pieces with Clemson World Magazine. She also served as a member of Cadency and the Clemson Book Club. 

Upon graduation, she was accepted at the University of Georgia’s Marketing Research Program as a Graduate Assistant. In the Summer, she will be moving to Athens to continue her education in market research and expand on leveraging her love of storytelling and creative writing to connect businesses and marketers to their consumers through research.

Sales Innovation Program Students of the Year, Mia Fotia and Madi Deschamps

Mia Fotia

Awarded to two seniors who have shown the potential to become great salespeople, as evidenced by participation and academic achievement in their sales classes. This award goes to students who have taken the courses necessary to obtain their Sales Certificate in Marketing.

During her time here at Clemson, Fotia served as a marketing liaison for the sales innovation program and the sales student leader for the SIP Capstone class. Additionally, she’s served as an IPTAY Membership and Development Services Intern, a member of the Marketing Student Advisory Board and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Upon graduation, she plans to work at Amgen as a Specialty Biopharmaceutical Representative. 

Madi Deschamps

During Deschamps’ time at Clemson, she served as a member of the undergraduate student government, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and engagements liaison in the sales innovation program. Additionally, she serves as a brand ambassador for Kendra Scott and a marketing intern for Sumter Economic Development. Upon graduation, she plans to work for Cintas in Greenville, SC, as a Management Trainee, hoping to become a sales representative.

Markvan V. Bellamy Brooks Undergraduate Scholarship, Matthew Hirsh

Matthew Hirsh

Endowed in the memory of Robert H. Brooks’ late son, Mark Brooks ’91, this fund provides scholarships to undergraduate students at Clemson University studying in a sports-related field. Students are chosen based on selective criteria, including their accomplishments and career aspirations as they relate to sports science.

Since arriving at Clemson, Hirsh has immersed himself in the sports industry- both professionally and academically. As a Corporate Partnerships/Client Services Intern with Clemson Athletics, he’s gained hands-on experience in executing and managing key partnership deliverables. From coordinating sponsor activations on game days to building detailed proof of performance decks and conducting media monitoring, he’s been a part of successful collaboration and attention to detail.

Matthew emphasizes the importance of staying curious, humble and never underestimating the power of building relationships.
