Two of our outstanding Ph.D. candidates in Materials Science and Engineering, Nakeshma Cassel (Brinkman Group) and Deeksha Kodangal (Bordia Group), are proudly serving as delegates on the President’s Council for Student Affairs (PCSA) — a student-led organization within the American Ceramic Society (ACerS).
The PCSA’s mission is to empower students to become active, engaged, and long-term leaders in the ceramics and materials community. By fostering collaboration and professional development, the council works to increase student participation in ACerS activities at the local, national, and international levels.
Serving as PCSA delegates provides Cassel and Kodangal the opportunity to connect with peers and professionals worldwide, share ideas, and represent Clemson University on a global stage. Their involvement not only highlights the strength of Clemson’s MSE program but also inspires other students to take part in leadership and networking opportunities that shape the future of materials science.
Participation in organizations like the PCSA allows MSE undergraduates and graduates alike to build professional networks, develop leadership skills, and contribute to advancing the field of ceramics and materials research.
Congratulations to Nakeshma and Deeksha for representing Clemson MSE with excellence and leadership!
