Three students from Clemson’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) have been recognized as 2025–2026 AATCC Foundation Scholars. In addition to receiving financial support for their studies, each scholar will enjoy complimentary registration for the Fabricating the Future Conference and a one-year AATCC membership—offering valuable opportunities to connect with industry professionals and strengthen their future careers in textiles.
Nyx Mashkow earned both the Charles H. Stone Scholarship and the Percy W. Woodruff Jr. Textile Manufacturing Scholarship.
The Charles H. Stone Scholarship provides $10,000 awards to juniors and seniors majoring in polymer or textile chemistry at either North Carolina State University’s Wilson College of Textiles or Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. The Percy W. Woodruff Jr. Textile Manufacturing Scholarship awards $3,500 to support a non-traditional undergraduate student at Clemson University.

Adam Puchalski and Ashley Gomez were each awarded the Connelly/Perkins Graduate Fellowship.
This $7,000 fellowship supports graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. in fibrous and polymeric materials within Clemson’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
The MSE department congratulates Nyx, Adam, and Ashley on this well-deserved recognition and their continued dedication to advancing the field of textiles.
