Three Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) graduate students have been recognized for their outstanding achievements with 2026 Graduate Excellence in Materials Science (GEMS) awards.
Nishanth Reddy Manda received the Diamond Award, and Gideon Irogbele and Oriyomi Opetubo received the Sapphire Award.
Organized annually by the Basic Science Division, the GEMS awards recognize outstanding graduate students in materials science and engineering. The awards are open to graduate students making an oral presentation in any symposium or session at the Materials Science & Technology (MS&T) meeting.
