Dr. Peter Maksymovych is the latest addition to Materials Science & Engineering at Clemson. Dr. Maksymovych was a Distinguished Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory amd a team leader at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences. . His research interests are aimed at emergence of phase transitions in classical and quantum materials, and the fundamental material properties that can enable future computational paradigms. . He authored over 125 peer review publications, 4 book chapters, five patents and received several national awards. His works have received over 8000 citations and were remarked by the 2019 Highly Cited Researcher award from Clarivate Analytics. He is a a regular organizer of workshops on physics and applications of nanomaterials, including the Fundamental Physics of Ferroelectrics and Related Materials and an inaugural conference Nano4Neuro.
