SCEAFCS is the official South Carolina affiliate of the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.  Our goal is to provide education and recognition to Extension Professionals who dedicate their lives to improving the health and wellbeing of all South Carolinians.  We aim to build leaders for the future; provide innovative professional growth and development opportunities; recognize and promote excellence and scholarship in programming; serve members as a nation-wide resource for education, information, networking, and building partnerships; promote the profession and the mission and goals of the Land Grant University Extension System.

Letter from the President

Hi everyone,

I am thrilled to welcome you to our first association newsletter! Over the last year and a half, the SCEAFCS officers, made up of individuals from both Clemson Extension and SC State 1890 Research & Extension, have been working hard behind the scenes to get the association up and running again after a long period of inactivity. We are so excited to have this opportunity to network and collaborate together as Extension professionals at both universities in the joint mission of providing quality, evidence-based information to individuals in South Carolina in the area of family and consumer sciences.

I want to thank each of you for being a part of this wonderful association as we continue to grow. Now that we are officially back, we are able to offer multiple opportunities for professional development and networking throughout the year targeted to our areas of work as well as a chance to recognize you for all of the amazing work that you are doing. I am excited to share with you all of the wonderful opportunities we have coming up to get to know each other, to grow professionally, and to celebrate our work.

I encourage each of you to apply for an award to showcase the amazing work you’ve done in your communities and to nominate yourself for an officer position for the upcoming year to become even more involved in the association. This is your association, and we want to make sure that we are supporting the needs of members.
