Jessica L. Glover ’22 (Chemistry) started a new job extracting and analyzing air samples under the Division of Air Quality Analysis at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Matthew A. Wysocki ’15 (biological sciences) earned his Ph.D. in Computational Cell Biology, Anatomy, and Pathology from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. Some of Wysocki’s recently published research includes:

• “Enhancing biomedical data validity with standardized segmentation finite element analysis”
• “Developing patient-specific statistical reconstructions of healthy anatomical structures to improve patient outcomes” 
• “Advancing osteoporosis evaluation procedures: Detailed computational analysis of regional structural vulnerabilities in osteoporotic bone”

Emily J. Smail ’17 (genetics and psychology) earned her Ph.D. in Psychiatric Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2021. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida, she currently serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation for the North Carolina Community College System.

Madelin V. Eastman ’14 (biological sciences) received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Colorado. Now, she works as a physical therapist in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts.

Debbie Moss ’95 (mathematical sciences) retired from the US Navy in 2015 and started teaching at San Diego Mesa College (2015) and Southern California Yeshiva High School (2018). Over the past five years, students from her engineering classes at SCY High have consistently placed in the top five in the Texas Instruments TI Codes Contest. This year, despite their school’s small size of 30 total students, her team came in first place. During her 20 years in the Navy, she earned three M.S. degrees (Mathematics, Meteorology and Physical Oceanography, and Hydrographic Science). Now that she is retired, she is pursuing a fourth (M.A. in Prehistoric Archaeology) but having the opportunity to work with the next generation of scientists and engineers is truly one of her greatest experiences.

James G. Padgett, Jr ’68 (pre-med) received his DMD degree at MUSC in Charleston, SC in 1973. He mentored pre-dental students at the annual Tigers on Call event on campus and mentored dental students at a free dental clinic after 40 years in owning a private dental practice.

Eric N. Anthony ’15 (biological sciences) earned a Doctor of Education degree from Liberty University in Fall 2022.

Basma Damiri ’07, ’11 (biology sciences – environmental toxicology) is now an associate professor at the School of Medicine at An-Najah National University in Palestinian. Basma finished two certified programs with Harvard University’s Clinical Research program in 2020 and 2021. Basma is currently an active researcher and helps underprivileged students pursue their studies.

Laura M. Gorrell ’14 (genetics and bioengineering) completed her Ph.D. in 2021 in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She performed her research at NIH as part of the graduate partnership program.

Dr. Namrata Sengupta ’16, Ph.D. in biological sciences – environmental toxicology, is currently the inaugural associate director of the Broad Discovery Center at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Dr. Sengupta led the launch and is now leading this public science museum showcasing research at the world-class biomedical institution. She serves on the board of directors of Asian Women for Health, a Boston-based nonprofit. In addition, she has recently been named to the Emerging Leaders Board of the Kendall Square Association, a nonprofit bringing together the biotech+tech ecosystem of Cambridge, M.A. She helped co-launch the first-ever Innovation Trail of Greater Boston and other organization leaders in Boston. Finally, Dr. Sengupta has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Science Communication at Clemson University by the Graduate School and Department of Biological Sciences. She has been coaching graduate students for the University’s Annual Three Minute Thesis competition finals since 2018.
