This past weekend, Clemson University hosted the annual Student Packaging Jamboree. The event’s theme was “Pack is Back,” which celebrated the first in-person PackJam since the pandemic began. Clemson welcomed students and educators from six universities across the United States and Canada, as well as representatives from the twelve industry event sponsors.
The weekend was filled with events. Friday started with a pre-show tour of the Pregis Flexible Films manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC, followed by an Opening Night Reception. On Saturday, attendees enjoyed a Keynote Presentation by William A. Singleton III from Mars, followed by Breakout Sessions from Dow, Flexible Packaging Association, Pratt Industries and Printpack, a student competition, networking fair and student, faculty and industry receptions. Finally, on Sunday, attendees participated in a Pregis Inspyre Service Event and had the opportunity to take tours of the beautiful Clemson campus and packaging facilities.
Ciara Johnson and Sarah Jane Lynskey served as the Student Directors of this year’s Jamboree. PackJam 2023 would not have been possible without the support of the team of student volunteers and faculty advisor Lisi Campbell, as well as many other Clemson University faculty and staff members and industry sponsors.
