Mississippi Comeback Sauce
Clemson Rural Health and Nutrition Extension Team
Mississippi Comeback Sauce is a delicious, creamy, spicy, tangy sauce that is often paired as a side to fried foods or as a salad dressing throughout the South. Traditionally made with mayonnaise, this sauce can pack a caloric punch. However, this recipe provides a slightly lighter twist by cutting the mayonnaise with non-fat plain Greek yogurt. This lessens the calories and fat per serving, making this a friendlier version of the traditional recipe. Pair with our crispy oven-roasted okra for a delicious dipping sauce that adds an extra level of flavor and pizzaz to dinnertime.
