As part of the Clemson University Genomics and Bioinformatics Facility’s mission to make next-generation sequencing and analysis accessible, we are pleased to offer a two-day practical workshop on amplicon sequencing and analyses. Participants will be walked through a simple 16S amplicon sequencing analysis including experimental design, ASV vs. OTU assignment, diversity metrics, taxonomic databases, analysis platforms (QIIME2 and Mothur), and analyzing and visualizing the data in RStudio. All users will be provided example data.
When: Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4th & 5th from 1-5 p.m.
Where: Life Sciences Facility, Room 142
Space is limited to 15 participants and all are welcome to apply. This workshop will be offered again in the Fall semester, based on demand. Workshop applicants must submit an email to genomes@clemson.edu addressing: 1) their proficiency/training in Linux/Palmetto, 2) detailed plans to use the training int he future, and 3) PI and anticipated graduation date if a student.
Deadline to submit an application is May 7 at 4 p.m. Applicants will be notified on May 10 if they have been accepted into the workshop.
