STARLIT Scholars Summer Program

Apply for the STARLIT Scholars Program at The University of Texas at Austin (UT)! This summer program focuses on research projects in the fields of astronautics and computational engineering with an emphasis on the rapidly growing cislunar space industry. STARLIT Scholars will work with UT faculty in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics on research related to spacecraft motion, probability/statistics, and information curation.  Each student will work with faculty and a graduate student mentor as part of this nine-week program.  In addition to the research, students will participate in a series of organized lectures, lunch with faculty, laboratory visits and a variety of recreational activities.  The program is nominally scheduled for May 27, 2025 through July 25, 2025.

This program is sponsored by the Universities Space Research Association, the United States Space Force, and the Air Force Research Laboratory through the University Consortium Research Opportunity (UCRO) 2.0/SSTI 1 program.

Eligibility: College Sophomores, Juniors, and non-graduating Seniors. Please note that this program is open to U.S. citizens with a GPA of 3.0 or greater (out of 4.0)

Support: STARLIT Scholars will receive a stipend of $6000 for the nine-week period, housing in a UT dorm, and a travel allowance.
