November 6, 2017

Name: Henry Narlee
Expected Graduation Year: May 2018
Major(s): Finance
Emphasis: Real Estate
Hometown: Duxbury, MA

Why did you choose Finance as a major?

I chose my Finance major because I was able to emphasize Real Estate Finance.

What career field/job would you like to pursue after graduating?

I am looking to pursue a career in commercial real estate.

What has been your favorite/most memorable moment at Clemson?

My most memorable moment either the National Championship game or the 2015-2016 FSU football game.

Any recent accomplishments?

Over the past summer I was able to finish a second internship at a commercial real estate firm as well as get my Massachusetts Real Estate License.

Do you have a great internship experience you’d like to share?

Over the past two summers I have been able to get great opportunities due to the internship programs I participated in. I worked side by side with brokers on deals they had been working on at the time. This past summer I was able to get a lot of solo showing experience, which I felt was a great asset to have before applying for a full time position this year.

What do you think prepared you the most?

At Clemson my Real Estate Law class was really helpful especially when it came to getting my actual license. My internships were major learning experiences. My first internship at Avison Young provided a great foundation while my second internship at Atlantic Properties allowed me to refine what I knew and gain real experience working in the commercial real estate field.

Any words of advice to other students?

Try to make as many relationships as you can regardless of whether or not they directly relate to the career you would like to pursue. Be personable and keep in mind that doing the little things correctly can make all the difference in the long run.
