Animals and Agriculture – 4-H Horse Project

The South Carolina 4-H Horse Project is excited to announce four state in-person events this summer. Horse Bowl, Hippology, State 4-H Horse Show, and the 4-H Horsemanship Camp will all be held on Clemson University property. Horse Bowl and Hippology are educational contests that test each members’ knowledge of equine science, horsemanship, and the industry. The State 4-H Horse Show is a multi-discipline horse show held over multiple days at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Pendleton, SC. The SC 4-H Horsemanship Camp is open to 4-H members and non-members on the Clemson University campus and the T. Ed Garrison Arena, and youth to bring their horses to this overnight camp to increase their riding skill and horse knowledge. The horse project will conclude the summer with local 4-H members traveling to a multi-state 4-H horse show and educational contests, the Southern Regional 4-H Horse Championship in Perry, Georgia.

SC 4-H Horse Project staff are working hard to follow Clemson University protocol to ensure that youth are safe. The additional safety protocol will make the events slightly different from previous years but enable them to be conducted in person. We are excited to see 4-H members in person after a year of virtual programming!
